Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Hvar | Highlights of Hvar and Traditional Lunch
Welcome to the sunniest island in Croatia, Hvar. Hvar is a unique blend of luxurious Mediterranean natural surroundings, layer upon layer of a rich cultural and historical heritage and sophisticated tourism. Located in picturesque natural surroundings on the south side of the island, surrounded by mighty medieval walls, magical fields and the scent of lavender, Hvar is a never-ending treasure of monumental heritage, culture and atmospheres.
Our local guide today will take us on a sightseeing tour of Hvar which includes a visit to the Fortica Fortress and Benedictine Monastery. Fortica Fortress, also known as Spangnola (panjola) is located over the northern part of Hvar town. It was built at the beginning of the 16th century (during the Venetian rule) and was reconstructed in 1579. Today the fort holds a collection of amphora and other exhibits from antiquity and the Middle Ages. This magnificent military building consist of a circular tower, ravelins, loopholes, guns, jail, corridors, and a chapel dedicated to St. John the Baptist, and in 1571 all this infrastructure saved many locals from Turkish attacks. Eight years later, lightning struck the gunpowder warehouse, causing a huge explosion and damage to Fortica fortress. In the 19th century, the Austrians rebuilt it. Besides experiencing its exquisite architecture, you will experience an unforgettable panoramic view of the city and its surrounding islands.
Next we visit the Benedictine Monastery which dates from 1664. That year two nuns of the order came to Hvar from the island of Pag with a task to begin the convent practice in this area. Since 1534 the commune of Hvar, encouraged by some of its resident donators, has pleaded for the establishment of a convent in this region. Along with spiritual character being its major task carried out for many centuries of its existence in this area, the convent has become world known due to agava lace. As tradition has it, the skill of lace making has been passed on from generation to generation within the convent for 100-130 years.
We will then drive inland to the small village of Vrisnik for our lunch at a family run tavern. Its domestic ambiance and friendly humored staff will make you wish to return time and time again. Its blend of a pleasant atmosphere and rich offer of Dalmatian cuisine prepared by ancient family recipes, will make your gastronomic experience memorable. While enjoying the tranquility of this place you will feel the scents of some ancient times.
After an enjoyable meal, we will then return to the pier.
Approximate Length: Six hours.
Suggested Attired: Casual attire with comfortable walking shoes. Fortica Fortress has many steps so it is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
