Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Mahon, Spain | Archeological Treasures of Menorca with Wine Tasting and Lunch
Mahon is a city with ancient roots yet uniquely re-organized in the British colonial style during the XVIIIth century when the island was a British colony. The colonial architecture, the Opera House, the ancient bastion of St Roque, the church of Santa Maria, the town hall and the food market are all worth pointing out.
Today we will meet our host, a local archaeologist from the island and an expert on this kind of archaeology and transfer to the prehistoric village-settlement of Trepuco.
The Serial Property proposed for inclusion in the tentative List of World Heritage of the Spanish State is made up of 25 archaeological sites that are representative of the Talayotic Culture of Minorca (CTMe) and those that best illustrate the Prehistory and Protohistory of the island of Minorca. This island, that forms part of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, has an exceptional heritage, reflected in its 1,574 archaeological sites inventoried on its 3000 feet of surface area.
Next we visit the Talayot de Trepuco. The talayotic settlement in Trepuc was excavated by English archaeologist Margaret Murray in 1931 and declared a Historical-Artistic Monument that same year. This approximately 16,000 square foot talayotic was originally surrounded by a wall, of which only several sections and two square defense towers in the western wall have survived. Archaeological findings have revealed that there were at least seven talayots originally. The central talayot, a solid structure with a small window in the upper section, is one of Minorca's largest. The star-shaped building near the talayot was erected in the eighteenth century by the French army during their attempts to wrest Mahon from the English. Attached to the wall is a second, smaller talayot in a well-preserved condition. To the left of the settlement is a magnificent taula, a prehistoric monument for worship, which was reconstructed in the early 1970s.
We then drive to Binifadet Winery to enjoy a guided visit of the winery followed by wine tasting and lunch. Walk through the vineyards and at the winery, see the different stages of the winemaking process from harvesting to bottling and labelling: focusing on the variations in the process for one type of wine or another. Enjoy a wine tasting with cheese and wine jam before lunch.
A lunch of traditional and international cuisine with an innovative twist will be served at the lovely restaurant at the winery.
After lunch we will return back to the pier and your cruise ship.
Approximate Length: Five hours.
Suggested Attire: Casual attire with comfortable walking shoes. Moderate walking at the archaeological site and along the vineyards.
