Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Bilbao | Rioja Wine Country with Traditional Lunch
Our day begins when we depart the port of Bilbao and head south for the Rioja wine country. The Rioja wine region borders southern Navarra, Castilla y Leon and the Basque Country and offers visitors not only fine Rioja wines and interesting wine museums, but also stunning scenery, prehistoric archaeological findings, award winning contemporary architecture, medieval towns and fine Riojan manor houses. The micro-climate that the Rioja wine region enjoys makes it a privileged area for producing wine that has earned it its well-deserved fame.
Our first stop today is at one of our favorite wineries: CVNE. We will visit the bodega and then taste four of their best wines.
Since 1879, CVNE has at all times belonged to the direct descendants of the Real de Asua family and has always focused in vine growing and winemaking in Rioja. This Haro winery comprises a collection of structures and cellars, most dating from the 19th century, arranged around a central patio. Above the cellars are the winemaking, bottling, and shipping facilities, conserved to this day.
Over time, a series of structures have been built, which reflect the history of the winery. The Eiffel's Cellar, designed by the architecture practice of the legendary Alexandre Gustave Eiffel; The Real de Asa cellar, a winery inside another winery. The Real de Asua cellar is an independent winery inside the original historic quarters of Cune. This cellar allows for a fully traditional winemaking process subject to the strictest quality controls. The greater wines of the Compaa Vincola del Norte de Espaa, namely, Real de Asa and Imperial, are made in this cellar.
Lunch will be at Restaurante Terete, the oldest restaurant in Haro. This restaurant has been specializing in roasts since 1867 and is beloved by locals. The dishes are all prepared according to traditional regional recipes. After lunch we will return to the pier.
Approximate Length: Seven hours.
Suggested Attire: Casual wear with comfortable walking shoes. Light to moderate walking over uneven payment and cobblestones.
PLEASE NOTE: All Virtuoso events ashore are capacity controlled and require a minimum number of participants to operate. Events are subject to change without notice.
