Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Muscat | Mystical Muscat with Festive Lunch
For thousands of years the focus of the frankincense trade route, Oman reveals itself as a land of friendly people and dramatic landscapes of deserts, mountains, and beaches peppered with forts and souks. Muscat, the capital city, stands out from other cities in the Gulf with its intriguing mix of the old and the new. Voyager Club guests will absorb the richness of its traditions and culture as we explore the city and surroundings and visit one of the regions fine museums.
We will begin our day with a drive to the Grand Mosque. This beautiful structure was announced by Sultan Qaboos bin Said in 1992 and completed in 2001. In his dedication, the Sultan expressed his hope that the mosque would be, "a center of culture and thought, to contribute in the rebirth of the Islamic heritage."
Our next stop is the Bait Adam Museum, located on the ground floor of a private home, to see a unique collection of currency, paintings, photographs and guns and chat with the owner. As you arrive at the local family's house you will be warmly greeted with Arabic coffee and dates. The head of the family will talk about Omani life from ancient times to present.
We then will visit Muttrah Souq which is one of the most popular souqs in the Middle East. Walk through alleyways beckoning with a myriad of merchandise, from imported fabrics of exotic Oriental spices, perfumes and richly handcrafted artifacts.
We then drive to Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz Carlton Hotel, and a 6-star deluxe luxury property. Enjoy a delightful luncheon with wine. This superb hotel enjoys a lovely beach side location on the Gulf of Oman with rugged mountains in the background. We will dine on a delicious meal typical of this renowned establishment.
After lunch we will have photo stop at the Al Alam Palace, the official residence of Sultan Qaboos, overlooking Muscat Bay. The architecture is a blend of oriental and occidental styles in rich hues of gold and blue, and is positioned between the two medieval fortresses of Jalali and Mirani, built by the Portuguese toward the end of the 16th century.
Finally we will visit a fascinating private museum, Bait Al Zubair, which allows amazing glimpses of the lifestyle and traditions of ancient and modern Muscat.
After the museum visit we will proceed back to the pier.
Approximate Length: Seven hours.
Suggested Attire: Modest clothing. No shorts, beachwear or sleeveless outfits. At the Mosque, women must wear clothing which covers the body and the head, including the hair.
