Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Gdansk | Highlights of Gdansk with a Traditional Lunch
Today we begin with a drive to Gdansk city center where we start our walking tour at the Upland Gate - a fragment of the city's fortifications and one of its main gates. Just behind it, we pass by a brick construction consisting of the Prison Tower and the Torture House - relics of the Gothic defense walls from the 15th century. The Golden Gate, situated next to the Prison Tower, opens onto the Long Market a magnificent street, with patrician mansions decorated with late Renaissance and Baroque facades - a real feast for the eyes! It is here that the richest burghers of Gdansk used to live.
Next, we pass by the Main Town Hall, with a life-sized figure of King Sigismund Augustus on the top. Just behind the Artus Court building rises the tower of St. Mary's Basilica, a part of the most precious and largest red-brick Gothic church. On our way back we pass by Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques, leading to the Long Wharf on the Motlawa River.
We will then visit St. Bridget's Church built in 1396. Gothic in style, it was totally destroyed during WWII and then rebuilt in 1973. The church became a monument, as it sheltered activists of the Solidarity Movement. Decorating the walls are numerous memorials to various conflicts. There is a large altar made from amber, a petrified resin that is called Baltic Gold. It is found only on the Baltic shore.
After visiting the church, we will enjoy a private 20-minute organ concert at St. Brygida's Church. We will then stop at the Monument to the Shipyard Workers, erected in memory of the workers killed in the riots of 1970 before ending our day with a wonderful luncheon of local specialties at the famous "Pod Lososiem" restaurant.
After lunch we will return to the ship.
Approximate Length: Four hours, 30 minutes
